Regional Meeting of WHO SEARO To Accelerate Progress Toward Vhc And Sdg Goals Through Nursing And Midwifery Strategy And Leadership

A regional meeting of delegates from the World Health Organization South-East Asia Regional Office (WHO SEARO) was held on Wednesday, December 11 2024. This meeting took place at the Nursing Department Campus of the Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Denpasar, precisely in the Amphitheater Building. This regional meeting, which was attended by several delegations representing each country in Southeast Asia, was held to accelerate progress towards the VHC and SDG goals through nursing and midwifery strategies and leadership.

This activity was attended by the Director of Health Workforce Provision of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Dra. Oos Fatimah Rosyati, M.Kes. She also gave a speech at this activity. Apart from that, several other honorary invitees also attended this event, such as the Association of Indonesian Nursing Vocational Education Institutions (AIPViKI), Director HRH Provision, WHO Indonesia, Association of Health Polytechnics of the Indonesian Ministry of Health (APKESI), and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

This activity began with a simulation from students from the Nursing and Midwifery Department of the Denpasar Ministry of Health Polytechnic who collaborated with students from the Midwifery Department of the Universite Catholique de Lile, France to simulate emergency aid in cases of pregnant women with post partum hemorrhagic. Furthermore, there are also several important agendas, including the symbolic handover of the International Module to several delegations from other countries such as Bangladesh, Butan, Maldips, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and several other countries. Apart from that, this activity also launched the International Class Roadmap for the Nursing Department. In this activity, the Director of the Denpasar Ministry of Health Polytechnic also presented the profile and curriculum of the Nursing and Midwifery Department at the Denpasar Ministry of Health Polytechnic. In between activities, there were also impressions and messages conveyed by Midwifery students from the Universite Catholique de Lile, France while carrying out learning activities in Indonesia, especially at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Denpasar. This activity ended with a campus tour of the Nursing Department which was attended by delegates and led by nursing and midwifery students and lecturers at the Denpasar Ministry of Health Polytechnic. The activity was very conducive and was warmly welcomed by all the guests who attended.
