University Catholique de Lille Students Undertake Internship at Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar

WhatsApp Image 2024-12-09 at 9.03.54 AMThe International Class of the Nursing Department at Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar is hosting six students from the University Catholique de Lille, France, for an Internship Program in Indonesia. This internship provides hands-on experience in healthcare, particularly in the fields of ANC (Antenatal Care), PNC (Postnatal Care), and newborn care.

The students, from the Faculty of Medicine, Midwifery, and Health Sciences (FMMS), are taking part in practical activities at Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar. “This program gives them the opportunity to learn about maternal and child healthcare systems in Indonesia and enhance their clinical skills,” said Gusti Ayu Eka Utarini, SST, M.Kes. The participants are not only learning theory but also directly engaging in healthcare services for pregnant women and postnatal care.

The Internship Program runs from November 23 to December 22, 2024. During this periodWhatsApp Image 2024-12-09 at 9.03.54 AM (2), the University Catholique de Lille students are involved in various clinical activities related to ANC, PNC, and newborn care at hospitals and clinics partnered with Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar. They are learning how healthcare professionals in Indonesia manage maternal care, labor, and postnatal services using evidence-based practices.

“This internship has given me new insights into maternal and child healthcare in Indonesia. I’ve also learned a lot about different medical cultures,” said one of the interns. This experience is invaluable in honing their technical skills, as well as deepening their understanding of working in a diverse environment.

Nengah Runari, S.Kp, S.Pd, M.Kep, Sp.Mat, added that this internship program plays a key role in fostering international collaboration in the medical field. “By observing how the healthcare system works in Indonesia, they can bring fresh perspectives that are useful for the development of global healthcare services.”

It also opens avenues for exchanging knowledge and best practices that can be implemented in their home countries.

Through this program, Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar continues its commitment to producing healthcare professionals with international competence. The program also strengthens cross-country relationships in healthcare education, where students can exchange knowledge, experiences, and cultures.

Through this Internship Program, the University Catholique de Lille students are gaining not only valuable clinical experience but also enriching their knowledge of maternal and child healthcare practices implemented around the world.
